What caused me to write the Adventures of Sassy?

One night, my wife and I were watching television and Jay Leno was on doing a segment called Jaywalking. During this segment, Mr. Leno asks questions to people on the street. These are very simple questions that almost anybody could answer, except it seems for the people Mr. Leno selected to talk to.

I turned to my wife and told her that I sincerely hope our grandchildren did not grow up not knowing the answers to these basic questions. My wife then said to my why don't you write a story about our travels. Your see, I have a job that requires us to travel all over the united states. I told her that if I wrote a story for our grandchildren, then it would be grandpa writing the story. Sassy was playing at my feet, and I turn to my wife and said, "What if Sassy tells the story instead of me?". After all our grandchildren are always saying "Sassy gets to go everywhere, Sassy gets to do everything".

So, this is how the Adventures of Sassy got started. All because of Jay Leno's Jaywalking. I wrote the first story to my grandchildren, but as we traveled, I gave away many copies to other grandparents, and the book just took off. Everyone just loved it, and the cost of producing the book got to be too much.

Today, I have written three books telling the story of Sassy's travel's across our beautiful country. This is Sassy's story to children. she tells them all about the states she has visited, and the many sites she has seen. From her birth in Nampa, Idaho, to Texarkana, Texas, where she is today, still telling her stories for children.

I sincerely hope that your children will enjoy reading about a little dog and her travels.
